Sunrise Retreat
SEPTEMBER 23-28
The Sunrise Retreat is a retreat designed to serve families that have lost a child due to cancer. Our aim is to provide families with a safe place to connect and heal from the pain of losing their loved one. This retreat is held in beautiful Bald Head Island, NC during the month of September at no cost to the Retreat Families.
A week on a Sunrise Retreat is similar to that of a Lighthouse Weeklong Beach Retreat. Families are served by volunteers, that we call Family Partners, who are paired with the family for the entire week. They will do laundry, clean up the family's home, and spend time with the kids during morning Flip Flop and Parents Night Out. Common Ground, a small group environment for parents to create community and connect, and Flip Flop, fun, supervised activities for the kids, take place each day. All food, lodging, and planned activities are covered for the week. This week is spent honoring the children who have passed in various ways and includes more moments for families to spend time together.​
