Thank you for your interest in serving with Lighthouse! We look forward to you joining us for a weekend retreat in Brevard, NC to give families battling childhood cancer a much-needed break, but we can’t do it without you.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO VOLUNTEER?
Our volunteers are the backbone of our retreats. As a volunteer, you’ll be assigned a Retreat Family (a family living through childhood cancer) to care for and serve over the weekend.
Volunteers have the unique opportunity to supervise kids in order to give retreat parents time to connect, share, and fellowship with other parents living through childhood cancer. Thanks to you, this is the first time many of these families will have time to just be a family again since diagnosis. Activities of the weekend include ropes course, archery, bb gun range, marked hiking trails, hayrides, crafts, and more!

CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS WEEKEND RETREAT?

Of course! The weekend retreat will take place October 12-15, 2023 at Carolina Point in Brevard, North Carolina.
​
Volunteer families will arrive on the evening of October 12. Retreat Families will arrive for a weekend of rest and fun on October 13. There is a minimum cost to attend the retreat; this is based on the make-up of your family.
