LFR Staff Spotlight: Scott Wade
MAY 2, 2017
.:Drumroll please:….it’s Mr. Scott Wade! Scott came to us with a diverse background in student ministry, and rightfully so – he’s just a big kid! We love having his fun personality around the office and his passion for excellence. He is the Family Partner Manager at Lighthouse, serving all of our Leadership and Family Partners as they get ready to serve our precious families on retreats.
When did you start working at Lighthouse?
Why did you want to work at Lighthouse?
I wanted to work at LFR because I fell in love with its mission. I wanted to be part of something great. I wanted to play a small role in families connecting and creating lasting, happy memories. I also loved the unique position that serving as a Family Partner at LFR placed me in as a father and husband. It was an opportunity to lead our family in service and direct conversations back to Jesus.
What is your favorite part of a retreat and why?
Honestly, all of it. I love being on retreat. I love watching families come together. I love watching families serve together. I love coming back to my room each night knowing that my exhaustion was for something good and worthwhile!
What are you most looking forward to at Lighthouse in 2017?
The smiles on everyone’s faces and hearing the laughter coming from the tent. I love watching everyone experience joy while on Retreat. I love the C.S. Lewis quote, “Joy is the serious business of heaven.” This comes alive while on Retreat.
What’s your favorite Lighthouse retreat meal?
Low Country Boil
Pick your favorite:
When is the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
I have a friend who is somewhat clumsy and I often find myself laughing at some of the ridiculous situations he finds himself in.
What do you like to do outside of LFR?
Crossfit and spending time with my family
Tell me about your family:
Heather and I have been married for 7 years and we have to girls, Kennedy (5), and Presley (3). We love being together as a family but some of our favorite things are trips to the zoo and the Alpharetta Food Trucks!
