Volunteers show up and fill a spot but Family Partners come alongside families to help ease the everyday burdens of childhood cancer.

Ready to serve together with your small group, your church, your youth group, or neighbors?

Lighthouse Family Retreat loves groups that serve together, of all kinds! If you would like to serve together on a 2017 retreat as a group, read on and fill out our interest survey by November 1, 2016 to be considered.

Due to increased retreat demand and a desire to create the best retreat experience possible for Retreat Families and Family Partners alike, the Lighthouse team has put together a series of guidelines and requirements for groups. Groups who meet these guidelines will have the privilege to pre-register in late 2016 before the retreats open to the general public in December 2016. Once pre-registration is closed, no members may be added. Any spots left open will be given to the general public.

Adult and Family Groups:

  • Groups must be a part of a church, business or other organization.
  • Groups must have a minimum of 15 adults (18+) and a maximum of 22 adults (18+). Groups with more than 22 adults must reserve an entire retreat and increase their number to 34 adults.
  • Groups will require a $100 deposit per family unit, given in one sum prior to group registration.
  • Groups may reserve, or “shut down” a retreat (A retreat that just includes your group) with 34 adults. By shutting down a retreat, it takes it off the market for the general public to apply.
  • To shut down a retreat a $5,000 deposit will be required.
  • To shut down a retreat, you guarantee to raise at least $65,000 as a group– the cost of the retreat.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, however, it is applied toward your retreat support.

Student Groups:

  • A student is anyone who is 13-17.
  • We require 3:1 student to adult ratio. This ensures that the appropriate amounts of Adult Family Partners are serving our Retreat Families.
  • Adult chaperones must be 21 or older.
  • Maximum number of students allowed per group: 21, with at least 7 adult chaperones.
  • There will be a $100 deposit required per student and per adult for student groups.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, however, it is applied toward your retreat support.

Group Registration Deadlines:

  • October 1: Group Registration Opens *Group Interest Survey must be completed before your group can register – please complete this survey to state your interest in bringing a group. This form will be reviewed to ensure that your group has met LFR’s Family Partner Group Guidelines.
  • November 14: Registration closes.
  • November 18: Groups will be notified of acceptance.
  • December 2: Deposits are due.
  • December 16: All group members registered online through the Lighthouse Family Partner Application. Any group members not online after this date forfeit their deposit and any remaining spots are open to the general public.
