Hope, a 2011 Summer Staff Team Leader, shares below why you should apply to be a part of our Summer Staff family!
“A summer with Lighthouse Family Retreat is like nothing else. I had no idea what to expect going into it, but what God did in and through me and my team during that summer was incredible. It is definitely not an easy job, but what you get out of it is completely worth it. I finished my summer with Lighthouse with a deeper understanding of God’s compassion and the hope we have because of Jesus. The families we served had heartbreaking stories and yet they were able to laugh and find joy when they were on a retreat. It was truly an honor to serve these families and overwhelm them with God’s love for an entire summer.
Our job involved a huge range of responsibilities from administrative tasks in the office, contacting hospitals, retreat logistics and simply having fun for the sole purpose of encouraging children and their families to laugh and enjoy one another. Every day at Lighthouse looked different which gave us each so many opportunities to discover our individual talents. All of us on Summer Staff came from different backgrounds, go to different colleges and have very different career plans, but our efforts and talents combined to create a team that was capable of overcoming any obstacle.”
