On March 7, 2010 8 runners participated in our inaugural teamLighthouse Half-marathon/5K fundraiser in Seaside, FL!
Each year, Seaside hosts a half-marathon on 30-A to benefit the Seaside Community School. This year, Lighthouse was given the opportunity to form a team within this race to raise money for our organization. As a runner in the race, you were asked to raise money in hopes of securing a $2500 family sponsorship. There is no cost to the families we serve, and it costs Lighthouse about $2500/per family to cover the expenses involved to provide them a place of fun and rejuvenation. Specifically the funding provides housing, meals and retreat activities such as a luau, beach games, arts & crafts, a night out for the parents, devotionals, a talent show and more.
Each runner actively pursued their fundraising goals and still continue to do so even post-race. This awesome opportunity has helped us to raise $11,000 so far! We’re so thankful to everyone who participated in any capacity – donating, running and volunteering.

A BIG thank you to Stevie B’s Pizza at the Northlake - Atlanta, GA location for choosing The Lighthouse Family Retreat to be the recipient of their “Charity Night” donations. They raised $1,400.00 and presented the check to Board Member, Rocky Thomas on Thursday morning.
